Fangone Forest crew artist Patrick Mulwana alias Alien Skin, has formally withdrawn from the Hiskool Awards nominations, requesting that his name be removed from the list of contenders.
The announcement came shortly after the release of the final list of nominees for the upcoming Hiskool Awards, an event that honors emerging talent in entertainment, business, and media in Uganda.

Alien Skin had been nominated in the Best Male Artist category alongside prominent Ugandan artists such as Ray G, Eddy Kenzo, and King Saha. Despite the recognition, he declined the nomination, stating he would not participate in the event.
Using his X (formerly Twitter) platform, the artist expressed gratitude for the nomination but highlighted the need for consent when selecting candidates for awards.
“Dear Hiskool Awards Team,
I sincerely appreciate the recognition and the honor of being nominated for the Hiskool Awards. However, I kindly request that you withdraw my name from the list of nominees. In the future, I would appreciate it if my consent is sought before including me in your nominations,” he posted.
While thankful for the acknowledgment, Alien Skin stressed that such gestures should not be made without prior consultation.
His decision has sparked discussion around the importance of consent and transparency in the nomination processes for public accolades.
