Renowned Ugandan singer Alien Skin, real name Patrick Mulwana, and his team narrowly escaped an angry mob attack in Jinja on Thursday evening.
According to reports, the incident occurred shortly after Alien Skin had performed at Speaker Anita Among’s event, where she was mobilizing support for NRM candidate Yoweri Museveni ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

A video making rounds on social media shows a section of angry youths turning violent, prompting police and event organizers to intervene and rescue the “Sitya Danger” hitmaker. Alien Skin was quickly whisked away by his security team to a safe location.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that the chaos could have been politically motivated, as Alien Skin has in the past clashed with supporters of Bobi Wine’s NUP camp, which enjoys massive backing in the Busoga region.
This is not the first time the “Party” hitmaker has faced hostility in Eastern Uganda. Earlier this year, he was allegedly attacked in Iganga after another performance.

Neither Alien Skin nor the police have issued an official statement regarding the Jinja incident.
