National Unity Platform (NUP) party president Bobi Wine has shocked supporters after admitting he has repeatedly thought about giving up his political struggle.
Speaking on the first episode of the new NUP Podcast, Bobi Wine revealed that since joining politics in 2017, he has faced moments where he questioned why he ever entered the political arena.

“Yes, I have thought of quitting very many times,Sometimes I ask myself how I even got here because I never planned to be involved in all this.”,he confessed.
Bobi Wine, who joined Parliament in 2017 after winning the Kyadondo East by-election, said his entry into politics was driven by anger and a desire to take the ghetto voice to Parliament. But once inside, he realised the problems were much bigger.
“We reached Parliament and found it messed up. So we said the problem is at the top.”

In 2020, he transformed People Power into NUP, becoming President Museveni’s strongest challenger. He compared his political journey to a boat that has already left the harbour “there is no going back.”
Bobi Wine said he keeps pushing not out of bravery, but because giving up is a worse option. What keeps him going, he added, is the unwavering loyalty of young people who believe in him.
“The people around me are braver than me. They have nothing but hope in my leadership. I can’t let that hope down,” he concluded.
