Bobi Wine Is My Friend, But I Didn’t Vote for Him in the 2026 Presidential Election”- Pastor Happy David Ngabo

Bobi Wine - Dr Happy David Ngabo

Renowned city pastor Dr Happy David Ngabo has ignited fresh political debate after openly declaring that despite his personal friendship with opposition leader and National Unity Platform presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine, he did not support him at the ballot box in the 2026 presidential election.

Speaking candidly in YouTube interview , Ngabo said his decision was driven by what he described as irreconcilable political differences, stressing that personal relationships should not be confused with political choices.

“Bobi Wine is my friend, but I can tell you publicly that I did not vote for him,” Ngabo said.

The outspoken pastor went on to heap praise on President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, crediting him with securing long-term peace and stability in Uganda and across the wider region.

According to Ngabo, Museveni’s role in regional security, international diplomacy and defence has earned him global respect, arguing that such a record makes foreign calls for his removal unrealistic.

“No American can say that President Kaguta Museveni should go away,” Ngabo added, pointing to what he called the president’s unmatched contribution to regional and international affairs.

Ngabo’s remarks have stirred mixed reactions, with supporters applauding his frankness while critics question the blending of religious leadership and partisan politics.

As Uganda’s post-election political climate remains tense, the pastor’s comments underline a growing trend of public figures drawing sharp lines between personal loyalty and political allegiance—even among long-time friends.
