Eddy Kenzo Back at the Grammys, “Hope & Love” Lands 2026 Nomination

Ugandan music superstar Eddy Kenzo has once again lifted the Ugandan flag high after securing another nomination at the upcoming Grammy Awards 2026.

Kenzo’s collaboration “Hope & Love” with Iranian-American musician Mehran Matin has been nominated in the Best African Music Performance category. The Big Talent boss now stands alongside some of Africa’s biggest stars in what is expected to be a very competitive category.

This becomes Kenzo’s second Grammy nomination following his first in 2024 for his song with American singer Matt B. The Sitya Loss hitmaker will now be battling it out with heavyweights including:Burna Boy, Davido, Omah Lay, Wizkid, Ayra Starr and Tyla. Tyla previously won this category in 2024.

The 2026 Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled for February 1, 2026, and many Ugandans are already hopeful that this could be the moment Kenzo becomes the first Ugandan and East African artist to win a Grammy.

Away from music, Kenzo currently serves as the President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) and also works as a Presidential Advisor on creatives. Over the years, he has continuously represented Uganda globally and famously became the first and only Ugandan to win a BET Award back in 2016.
