The Ugandan government has reassured foreign diplomats and expatriates living in Uganda that their security will be fully guaranteed during the election period and even after the polls.
Speaking at a high-level meeting with political and media attachés from foreign missions in Kampala, the Minister of State for Information and National Guidance, Hon. Godfrey Kyabbyanga Baluku, urged them not to panic, stressing that security across the country is firmly under control.
Kyabbyanga assured the diplomats that both their personal safety and national security remain strong, describing the current security situation as stable and well-managed.

The minister also addressed growing concerns among Ugandans regarding a possible internet shutdown during the elections. He dismissed the fears, stating clearly that the government has no plans whatsoever to switch off the internet.
The assurances come as political activity heats up nationwide, with government officials moving to calm nerves and project confidence ahead of the electoral process
