Bruhan Sserunga, father to presidential candidate Mubarak Munyagwa for the Common Man’s Party , surprised many on Saturday after openly rallying Kitagwenda residents to vote for President Yoweri Museveni in the forthcoming coming general election.
Sserunga, speaking at Museveni’s campaign stop, thanked the President for supporting him under the civilian veterans programme and praised the “peace Uganda enjoys today.” He told locals that Museveni deserves another term to finish ongoing projects.

President Museveni, in his address, applauded LDUs for keeping Kitagwenda safe from ADF threats and revealed that government had finally secured funds to construct the long-awaited Kitagwenda–Kamwenge road.
Museveni also highlighted key government interventions: connecting Kitagwenda to the national power grid, plans to expand electricity access, and support for wealth creation through the Parish Development Model. He encouraged residents to embrace commercial farming, especially coffee.
The President further pledged a coffee processing plant, compensation for ADF war victims, and improvements in local schools and security housing once resources allow.

Speaker Anita Among also confirmed that the road construction loan had already been approved and money secured.
