Pece–Laroo Division MP hopeful Norbert Mao is off to a rocky start after his latest campaign procession failed to attract the attention he hoped for.
Residents of the newly created division reportedly showed little to no interest as Mao and his team marched through the streetsleaving the once-influential northern politician walking almost alone. Witnesses say shopkeepers, vendors, and locals simply went about their day, barely noticing the procession.

Sources on the ground claim many residents kept their distance because they believe Mao has aligned himself too closely with the current regime, a move they say has cost him credibility ahead of the 2026 general elections.
Some youth accuse the DP President General and Justice Minister of losing touch with the grassroots, arguing that he no longer represents the change he once championed.
Political analysts note that Pece–Laroo is a tough battleground, and such a lukewarm reception could signal deeper challenges in Mao’s bid for Parliament.

Whether this was just a bad day or a sign of fading influence remains to be seen. We’ll keep you updated here at Daily Spear news.
