The long-running feud between Bebe Cool and Eddy Kenzo has now drawn comments from the NRM, highlighting just how messy the rivalry has become.
Emmanuel Lumala Dombo, NRM’s Director of Information and Publicity, told local TV station:
“Bebe Cool used to lead the musicians’ team and did well. But when campaigns started, Eddy Kenzo was appointed leader. Both are talented. I don’t know if they think we should only work with one of them.”
The tension between the two singers reportedly dates back to 2013, after Rema Namakula left Bebe Cool’s Gagamel label and later started a relationship with Kenzo
The feud reignited during the 2026 presidential campaigns, with Kenzo accusing Bebe Cool’s team of sabotaging his performances:
Microphones and sound systems allegedly malfunctioned only during Kenzo’s performances.
Kenzo claims journalists linked to Bebe Cool were instructed not to cover his shows.
He blames Bebe Cool for being upset over his push to stop Kampala-based artistes from performing at upcountry rallies, potentially cutting loyal artistes’ campaign earnings.
Bebe Cool reportedly paused appearances at rallies until meeting the President and getting approval for the artistes he supported.
The NRM admits the situation is unclear, leaving fans wondering if the rivalry is personal or political.
