Renowned Ugandan socialite, media personality, and DJ Sheilah Gashumba has taken to social media to call out leading fuel companies Shell and Total Energies over what she described as poor customer service during night hours.
In a post shared on her official X (formerly Twitter) account, Sheilah narrated her frustrating experience after failing to refuel her car late at night. According to her, she was returning from a DJ gig at Sundiate Beach when she stopped at two different fuel stations in Kajjansi, only to find both completely deserted with the pump attendants and security guards fast asleep.

“I pity people who buy Shell and Total franchises in Uganda because the people that work for you at these petrol stations are busy sleeping both attendants and askaris. Mostly the ones out of Kampala. Imagine investing in such a business and your workers are not bothered even when you try to wake them up. Olemwa!” Sheilah lamented.
Her post has since gone viral, sparking mixed reactions from netizens. Many Ugandans have echoed her frustration, sharing similar experiences of finding attendants asleep at night when they needed fuel or other services.
As of press time, Shell Uganda and Total Energies Uganda have not yet released any official response to Sheilah’s claims.
