The Uganda Police Force has revealed major breakthroughs in investigations into three brutal murders that rocked Kampala in early February 2026, assuring the public that progress is being made to curb rising urban crime.
The cases include the killing of popular TikToker Diana Skyz in Kyanja, the murder of Pamela Tumwebaze, a senior administrator at Uganda Christian University, and the shocking double murder of a hotel manager and a security guard in Lungujja.
Speaking to the media, police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke said detectives have arrested key suspects and developed strong investigative leads across all three cases.
“We have made significant breakthroughs in several high-profile murder cases from recent years,” Rusoke said. “These include the murder of a socialite in Kyanja, the killing of a director at UCU, and the murder of two individuals at a hotel in Lungujja.”
The police say the developments are part of a broader effort to restore public confidence amid growing concerns over violent crime in Kampala and other urban centers.
Rusoke urged members of the public to remain calm and continue working closely with security agencies.
“We appeal to citizens to keep cooperating with the police by sharing information through our command center hotlines and maintaining regular contact with nearby police stations,” he added.
Authorities insist that more details will be released as investigations progress, warning criminals that the net is tightening as security operations intensify across the city.
