Ugandans Shocked as Sasha And Canary Mugume Spill Bitter Marriage Secrets

Former NBS TV journalist Canary Mugume and ex-wife Sasha Ferguson are back in the headlines after Sasha released a heartbreaking and explosive account of what she calls an abusive marriage that forced her to flee for her safety and that of her children.

In an emotional Instagram post, Sasha said her once-envied relationship slowly turned into a painful nightmare one she endured silently “to protect someone’s image.”

She claimed every attempt to seek help was shut down, and she was constantly painted as “the villain.”

Sasha says the final straw came when she was told, “People love me. No one will believe you.” After losing her father, she walked out with nothing but her kids and a few belongings, choosing peace over property.

She pleaded with the public to stop tagging Canary, saying it reopens wounds and complicates co-parenting. Despite everything, she urged people not to judge the father of her children.

In a strong response on X, he claimed he was the real victim  one of the “many silent men” suffering violence from partners with “uncontrolled anger.”

He said he has photos of himself bleeding after alleged attacks and denied claims of being an absent father, noting he has supported his children financially with receipts to prove it.

Canary further revealed he won custody in court, but the ruling was ignored, adding that the children were once left alone in a locked apartment while their mother traveled abroad.

He called out society for “always believing women,” urging men facing violence to speak up before it’s too late.

The couple, who legalized their marriage in May 2021 after nearly a decade together, are now officially on separate paths  with both sides revealing painful, conflicting accounts of what happened behind closed doors.
