High Court Sets December 16 Hearing for Walukaga Election Petition

The High Court in Kampala has scheduled December 16, 2025, to hear an election petition filed by Walukaga Mathias against the Electoral Commission and its official, John Lubowa.

Court records show that the case, registered as Election Petition No. HCT-00-CV-EP-0010-2025, will be heard starting at 9:00am. The hearing notice confirms the matter will be handled in the forenoon.

In a clear warning to all parties, the court stated that proceedings will continue even if the respondents or their lawyers fail to appear. If no representation is made, the hearing will go on in their absence.

The notice, signed by court official Simon Zirintusa, carries the official seal of the Republic of Uganda. It also includes an ECCMIS security code and a QR code that directs to the case details on the Judiciary’s ECCMIS portal.

Walukaga’s petition raises concerns over aspects of the electoral process involving the Electoral Commission and John Lubowa. The High Court is now set to hear the matter and determine it on its merits.
