The family of former Minister of Ethics and Integrity, Hon. Dr. Nsaba Buturo, has announced the death of their daughter, Rachael Buturo, who passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2025.
Rachael, a renowned Kampala socialite and a marketing Assistant at Housing Finance Bank , was widely known for her warm heart, friendly nature and ability to easily connect with people from different walks of life. Friends and acquaintances have described her as kind, social and full of life, qualities that made her stand out within the city’s social circles.
In a funeral announcement released by the family, Hon. Dr. Nsaba Buturo and his wife expressed deep pain and sorrow over the loss, describing it as a devastating moment for the family.

According to the burial programme, a vigil will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the family home in Mutungo, starting at 6:00pm.
A funeral service will follow on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Bugolobi Church of Uganda, beginning at 3:00pm.
After the service, Rachael’s body will be transported to Kisoro District, where burial will take place on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 12:00 noon.
The family has not yet revealed the official cause of death. However, close friends say Rachael had been complaining of a severe migraine shortly before her passing.
Hon. Dr. Nsaba Buturo is a former cabinet minister who served as Minister of Ethics and Integrity and remains a respected figure in Uganda’s public life.
Since the news of Rachael Buturo’s death broke, messages of condolence have continued to pour in from friends, members of Kampala’s social scene, religious leaders and the general public, many remembering her as gentle, welcoming and full of warmth.
