Speaker of Parliament and NRM Vice Chairperson (Female), Anita Annet Among, has delivered a sharp political warning to the opposition , declaring that running Uganda is not as simple as it may appear.
Speaking during President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s political rally in Nakawa, Among took direct aim at the National Unity Platform (NUP) and its leader Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine.
“If I can plant someone in the NUP and you think you can run Uganda, Hon Kyagulanyi, first wait,” Among said, drawing loud reactions from supporters.
Her remarks, delivered to a charged crowd, were framed as a caution against underestimating the complexities of state leadership and governance. Among emphasized that political organization, experience, and strategy are critical in managing national affairs.
The comments have since sparked debate across political circles, with supporters viewing them as a show of NRM’s confidence, while critics see them as a direct challenge to the opposition’s readiness for power.
The Nakawa rally forms part of President Museveni’s ongoing political mobilization, as the 2026 general elections draw closer and political temperatures continue to rise
