“I Will Bang the Table Back”- Makindye East MP-Elect Mulyanyama Warns PM Nabbanja Over Joel Ssenyonyi

Makindye East MP-elect Ali Kasirye Nganda Mulyanyama has fired an early warning shot ahead of his first appearance in the 12th th Parliament, declaring he will aggressively confront Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja if she attacks the Leader of the Opposition, Joel Ssenyonyi.

Speaking during a Sanyuka TV Morning Xpress show hosted by Adam Kungu, the outspoken National Unity Platform (NUP) legislator did not mince words as he described how he intends to conduct himself on the floor of Parliament amid rising post-2026 election tensions.

“Robinah Nabbanja, I am coming to Parliament, and if you point at the Leader of Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi, I will bang the table and point at you too,” Mulyanyama warned.

The Makindye East MP-elect said his stance is driven by a commitment to defend the opposition leadership against what he described as intimidation and disrespect from the executive arm of government.

His remarks signal a combative Parliament ahead, with opposition MPs preparing for tougher engagements with the ruling establishment.

Mulyanyama’s comments come at a time when political temperatures remain high following the 2026 general elections, with sharp exchanges expected between NUP legislators and the ruling NRM government.

As the new Parliament prepares to sit, observers say Mulyanyama’s bold declaration reflects a wider shift toward a more confrontational opposition, determined to challenge government officials head-on rather than play it safe.

Whether his aggressive approach will redefine parliamentary debates or escalate tensions further remains to be seen.
