“I’m No Longer Muslim” – Lwasa Returns to Christianity After Dramatic Faith Turn

Struggling Masaka City businessman Emmanuel Lwasa has once again stirred public attention after announcing that he has left Islam and returned to Christianity.

Lwasa, who converted to Islam in August 2025 and adopted the name Acram, says he has now chosen to follow Christ and reverted to his birth name, Emmanuel.

In a recent interview, he declared, “I am no longer a Muslim. I have converted and chosen to follow Christ.”

He explained that despite fully committing to Islamic practices including praying five times a day under guidance he did not see the results he had hoped for, particularly regarding his health.

Lwasa says his turning point came when he sought help at Pastor Samuel Kakande’s church after being advised to first undergo medical tests.

“They told me to go to the hospital and check for diabetes. I did, and when I returned, they confirmed it. Pastor Kakande prayed for me, and I was healed. That’s why I became born-again,” he said.

He also described a powerful moment during prayer that left him shaken.

“When the pastor prayed for me, I felt something like electricity through my body, and I fell to the ground,” Lwasa recounted.

Now, he insists he has no regrets about leaving Islam, saying the decision was personal and deliberate.

“I’m old enough to choose my path. I’m grateful for the healing and the new life I’ve found,” he added.

His latest move comes amid ongoing controversy following claims by his ex-partner, Nash Glow, who alleged they once sought help from traditional healers over his struggling business. She further claimed a witchdoctor linked his misfortunes to a broken spiritual pact and warned that his wealth could only return through extreme conditions allegations that have fueled debate around Lwasa’s search for solutions.
