Renowned Ugandan Events promoter Andrew Mukasa, popularly known as Bajjo, has spoken out following singer Swahaba Kasumba’s shocking decision to quit Islam and embrace traditional spiritual practices.
Days ago, the former Islamic singer publicly announced that he had abandoned the religion he grew up in. During a ceremony marking his new path, he also changed his name from Swahaba Kasumba to Kasumba Bamweyana Lubowa, signaling a complete break from his past faith.
Kasumba later revealed that returning to the mosque was no longer an option for him, claiming he would face severe punishment from his new spiritual leaders.

He added that his decision was driven by a desire for wealth and fame, which he believes his new spiritual gods will provide.
According to Kasumba, he is starting the year with a “clean slate” in his new religion and hopes this chapter will bring him more fulfillment than before.
The move has left many stunned, especially those who knew him as a committed Muslim. Even close friends and followers admitted they did not see the change coming.
While appearing on Sanyuka TV’s “Obiwulire Ku Sanyuka” show, Bajjo used the moment to strongly advise Kasumba to reconsider his decision and return to Islam. He warned that witchcraft would not solve his problems and insisted that only Allah could truly save him.
Bajjo also noted that Kasumba was once among the most respected and followed Muslim personalities in the country.

“Swahaba Kasumba was a respected and widely followed Muslim. He still has a chance to return to Allah. Witchcraft will not help him; only Allah can,” Bajjo said
