Electoral Commission Chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama has responded to concerns raised by Nakaseke South MP, Hon. Lutamaguzi Semakula, over the alleged existence of illegal polling stations at Namunkekeera Industrial Park -Kapeka in Wakiso District.
In a letter addressed to the legislator, Justice Byabakama confirmed that the Commission has taken up the matter and is currently verifying voter data and polling stations in the area.
“The Commission is conducting verification of the voter data and polling stations in the area of reference and will provide you with feedback as soon as possible,” reads part of the letter.
The letter, signed by Justice Byabakama, was also copied to the Secretary General of the National Unity Platform (NUP) and the Returning Officer for Nakaseke District.
The development comes at a critical time as the country gears up for the 2026 General Elections, scheduled to take place in January, with stakeholders closely watching the Electoral Commission’s handling of election-related complaints.
