CBS FM Quietly Fires Meddie Nsereko After Months Off-Air

CBS FM has reportedly parted ways with celebrated political analyst Meddie Nsereko, bringing an end to his decades-long run at the Buganda Kingdom–owned station.

Insiders confirm that after spending over two months off-air, Nsereko will not be returning, though the station has remained tight-lipped about the exact reason for his exit.

Earlier reports claimed Nsereko had taken sick leave for specialised eye treatment in the UK, but new info suggests his break quietly turned into a permanent exit.

“It was a mutual understanding… people had started saying many things,” a source revealed.

Nsereko, believed to be in his 60s, was one of CBS FM’s most authoritative political voices. He joined the station in 1996 and took full control of the political talk show lineup in 2001 after Mulindwa Muwonge’s departure.

Shows He Hosted

Kiriza Oba Gana (89.2 FM)

Palamenti Yaffe (88.9 FM, Saturdays)

Alive and Kicking (Sunday mornings) — now reportedly renamed Mukikadde after his exit

Outside radio, Nsereko last year launched The Meddie Nsereko Show podcast, where he interviewed notable personalities from political and social circles.

In a past interview, he praised CBS for opening “enormous opportunities” in his journalism career.

Efforts to reach Nsereko or CBS management for comment were unsuccessful.
