Centenary Bank has teamed up with Abigail Foundation to support children with disabilities in Namakwa, Mukono, ahead of the 4th Annual Family Support Day and the launch of a new inclusive school.
The partnership strengthens the bank’s ongoing commitment to community development, focusing on education, healthcare, and vulnerable groups.

More than 100 families have been invited for the early Christmas celebration scheduled for 11th December at the Abigail Foundation Home of Disability. The date was moved from the traditional World Disability Day (3rd December) to allow better preparation.
Abigail Foundation Director Ms. Harriet Nampewo praised Centenary Bank for their consistent support, noting that the bank has been a reliable partner in their annual outreach activities and has once again donated materials for this year’s event.
Founded in 2016, Abigail Foundation now supports over 165 children, with 25 in boarding. In Mukono alone, they have profiled over 100 children this quarter.

Representing Nakisunga Sub-county, CDO Mr. Kyegombe Esterico officially welcomed the foundation and confirmed that the planned inclusive school will begin admitting learners in 2026. The school will cater to both disabled and non-disabled children to promote equality, social integration, and community bonding.
A special church service led by Father Mathias Kalisa blessed the new chapter, with the Catholic Church pledging to work closely with the foundation and encouraging on-site services to support children who cannot easily travel.

Local leaders applauded the initiative, highlighting its impact on the welfare of children with disabilities, community development, and access to essential services. They urged the public to support the foundation’s work for the betterment of Nakisunga and Mukono District.
