After almost two decades on screen, former NTV news anchor and Mwasuze Mutya host Faridah Nakazibwe has finally opened up about what really pushed her to quit mainstream media.
Faridah, who shocked fans in October 2023 when she announced her exit from NTV, says the move was not sudden but had been building up for years.
Speaking in an interview chat with Ruth Kalibbala, the TV queen revealed that the emotional weight of Mwasuze Mutya had started to wear her down.
“For the last two years, I felt drained. The stories I used to host on Mwasuze Mutya really affected me. It was emotionally exhausting and left me vulnerable,I wanted to live privately and dedicate time to my kids ” she said.
Faridah explained that constantly listening to heartbreaking stories from guests left her mentally tired and emotionally empty something she could no longer ignore.
After 17 years of nonstop work, Faridah decided it was time to choose herself. She’s now fully focused on her personal projects, businesses, and family life. Earlier this year, she welcomed her baby boy, Marktoum, and has since embraced a calmer lifestyle away from the media spotlight.
For now, the former Mwasuze Mutya host seems happier, content, and ready to enjoy her next chapter in peace.
