I Abuse Them a Lot” – Ssemujju Reveals Why NRM Didn’t Help Him Survive the 2026 Kira Parliamentary Race

Hon. Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda has finally broken his silence after losing the Kira Municipality parliamentary seat to National Unity Platform’s George Musisi in the 2026 general elections, revealing candid behind-the-scenes conversations that followed his unexpected defeat.

Speaking on NBS TV’s Frontline program, Ssemujju disclosed that a ruling party MP reached out to him with a blunt explanation of why he failed to retain his seat.

“An NRM MP told me that the problem is that I abuse them a lot. Otherwise, they would have helped me return to Parliament,” Ssemujju said.

The outspoken legislator, widely known for his fierce criticism of the ruling establishment, admitted that the remark left him reflecting on the political cost of his confrontational approach.

Ssemujju also conceded that the electoral process in Kira was largely peaceful, noting that he experienced no disturbances throughout the campaign and voting period. However, he acknowledged that he never anticipated losing the race.

His defeat marks a major shift in Kira’s political landscape, with NUP’s George Musisi clinching the seat in one of the constituency’s most closely watched contests.

As the post-election dust settles, Ssemujju’s revelations have ignited debate across social media, with supporters applauding his frankness while critics argue his own words explain his downfall.
