Disturbing details have emerged in the High Court trial of Christopher Okello Onyumu, who claims mental health struggles drove him to kill four toddlers in a shocking April 2026 attack in Ggaba.
According to court proceedings, Onyumu allegedly posed as a parent to gain entry into Ggaba Early Childhood Development Centre, where the fatal stabbings occurred an act prosecutors argue was calculated and deliberate.
Despite Onyumu’s claims, psychiatric experts told the court he was mentally stable during evaluations. Their findings contradict his defense, indicating he was fully aware of his actions at the time of the killings.

Evidence presented in court reveals Onyumu’s confession linked the attack to a belief in human sacrifice as a means to acquire wealth suggesting premeditation rather than psychological impairment.
The 39-year-old dual Ugandan-US citizen reportedly underwent mental health treatment between 2016 and 2017 and survived a suicide attempt in 2023. However, recent assessments found no active condition that could have contributed to the crime.
The accused is facing four counts of murder stemming from the fatal stabbing of four toddlers at Ggaba Early Childhood Development Centre on April 2, 2026.
The victims were identified as Gideon Eteku, Keisha Agenorwoth Otim, Ignitius Sseruyange, and Ryan Odeke.

The case continues to unfold in the High Court, as the prosecution seeks to establish intent in one of the most horrifying incidents in recent memory.
